6 Tips to Help you lose Unwanted FAT!

I am sharing my tips on how to feel better, and fit back into those jeans in your closet!

Keeping to your Resolution and Promise to yourself has never been easier! Spring Break and Holidays are around the Corner!

I know that you have them! Clothes you used to fit into, and they are hanging out in your closet or drawers. Just waiting to be part of the line up again.  I call this a FAT LOSS tip list.

weightWhen we implemented the last tip, it helped my husband, who is disabled, to lose a further 27 pounds in 3 months. To my going down several dress sizes. A friends daughter lost 70 lbs over a year, and another of our friends lost 163 lbs over 24 months (see her story here).

With all of us, and others, keeping it off. Through healthy choices and actions, not wraps, or starvation diets.  By helping your body work the way it was meant to. 

So, let’s work together to do something about it for you. (My additional secret weapon is at the end…)

Weight lossSET GOALS

To begin with, you will want to set a realistic goal, and understand that you want to lose fat, not muscle. You will focus on the loss of inches (FAT LOSS), not weight.

Start by taking your measurements, and weight. Then be sure to weigh yourself at the same time every few days.  Measure yourself weekly.

Keep a journal and celebrate your victories.

GET A GOOD BOOK, OR RECIPES Weight Loss Book

Plan out your menu and shop for the week. Prepare your own meals. Avoiding sauces and marinades, as well as frozen and prepackaged foods with preservatives and sodium.

A book that I enjoy is called The Lean Belly Prescription – by Travis Stork, M.D. The meals were easy to prepare and offered a variety of foods. He is focused on helping you with FAT LOSS as well.

No BSScience is now researching about how the fat contains so many toxins built up from your environment and food, that it can mimic certain chronic illnesses. These illnesses can sometimes go away when you lose that fat, and the toxins are removed.  I love Dr. Mark Moyad, MD, and I also recommend reading his book, No BS Diet Health Advice, if you are considering taking charge of your weight. He contributed significantly to the Secret Weapon I mentioned….

 

Fast FoodSTICK TO THE RULES YOU SET!

You will want a no no list.  

Items to reduce or avoid: fruit juices, sodas, diet soda, a lot of carbs, fast food, fatty snacks, and heavy meals at dinner.

If you break the rules, it will take longer to achieve your goal. The only person who will pay the price for breaking the rules is you. Some of the habits listed above contain sugar, or are converted to sugar, which in turn increases your body’s production of FAT.

Set times to eat, and ideally try to eat at this same time daily when you can.  

Weight LossDRINK A LOT OF WATER AND EAT FIBER!

When you start to lose the FAT, the TOXINS stored in the FAT will go with it. This needs to be evacuated promptly from your system.  So, drink water regularly throughout the day, and I recommend a full glass at least 30 minutes prior to a meal or snack.

Eat foods in the Morning or snack during the day with soluble and insoluble fiber, to help also bind and remove the FAT and TOXINS before they can be reabsorbed.  

INCREASE YOUR METABOLISMWeight Loss

Making this a priority is not easy for most working parents, or when you have a chronic illness and cannot put in a work out in the gym.  This does not mean that you cannot still find ways to increase your metabolism. There are a lot of 10 – 20 minute ways to get moving.

This can mean going for a walk between clients, or during your kids practice. You can dance in the kitchen while preparing your meals, rocking out to the tunes you like. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. This will help to move your FAT burning system into a higher gear.

OUR SECRET WEAPON

As a 42 year old mother of 3, and previously very fit competitive swimmer, I remember the bmi tests, and weigh ins.  I have 3 girls, and am trying to teach them healthy habits. With a husband suffering from a Chronic Neuro-Muscular Illness, he could not join a gym, and it is easier to develop the habit of a work out with a partner to push you.  So, we researched a way to change the AMPK switch in our brains, to turn up the metabolism naturally. To burn FAT for energy, and create muscle. No fad. Just your body working the way it was meant too.
